Open Air Burning

A Burning Permit may be required for “open air fires” as defined in the Municipal Open Air Burning By-law No. 2014-19, as amended.  The by-law outlines when an open air burning permit is required, and the precautions to be observed by those persons setting out such fires.

A Fire Chief or designate may extinguish an approved fire if it results in a health or safety hazard.

You may apply for a burn permit at the municipal office between 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.

A site visit by the Fire Chief or his/her designate is required for a commercial permit.
